Long Time...No See?

Hello :) I know it has been forever since I posted and I do regret not being able to keep up with my blog or Etsy shop like I hoped to this summer.  It feels like a lifetime has passed in the last few months around here, things on the home front have been rough so I really have not been creating much or spending a lot of extra time online.   I aspire to write a “happy” blog and because the last few months weren’t exactly blissful sailing in my personal/school/work life, I just decided to put my blog away for a few months.   And now with summer here, things also seem to be getting busier so it is one crazy day after another.  My hope is to start things rolling again in the next few weeks.  I know that I have lost a lot of readers but I promise to start picking things up again!  I am looking forward to the fall and the opportunity to spend a little more time online :)

Organic Brownies | Healthy Child Healthy World

Organic Brownies



         Ingredients:
  • 10 TBS. Organic Valley Butter
  • 1 1/4 organic cane sugar
  • 3/4 cup organic fair trade cocoa
  • 2 TBS organic vanilla
  • 2 TBS water
  • 2 large cage-free organic eggs (keep in fridge until time to use)
  • 1/3 cup organic stone wheat flour
  • 2 TBS organic coconut flour (optional)
  • 1 cup organic walnuts

MAKE IT

  1. Heat to 325F and place rack in bottom 1/3 of the oven for top crispness.
  2. Place foil over 8X8 pan and grease with butter.
    In a medium saucepan, heat 10 TBS of butter on medium heat. The butter will begin to foam and then bits of brown will rise to the top- when it stops foaming take off heat.
  3. Immediately add sugar, cocoa, vanilla, water. Wait 5 minutes and then add 1 egg at a time.
  4. Stir until silky smooth and add flour.
  5. After mixed, add walnuts.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes or until toothpick is clean.

CLEAN IT

Because of the organic products, this will look different than regular brownie mix. You want it thick and shiny- not runny.

GREEN IT

Be sure to use Organic Valley or any USDA Certified Organic butter. It makes a huge difference in taste!

My Easter in Pictures Part 2

Happy Easter!!


I actually started organizing some of my stock around 5am this morning.  JoAnne's had photo boxes on sale so I picked up some new ones!  I also got some of my supplies back in shape.  Cleaning kind of makes me happy....






















And getting everything all ready for Grammy's & Aunt Jesse's Annual Easter Egg Hunt.  :)






I like to think that some of my artist traits have rubbed off on my nieces and this surely is proof.  My oldest niece Zoe made a full post board of crafts and stickers for the Easter Bunny this year! The most adorable part is that she made an entire family of bunnies and named them all after her family.  The J is backwords but it is just so sweet that I am fine being Lesse for today.  The last name on this is her stuffed owl, Owly who is very much a part of our family. :)
