Fine Art Photograpy by SeentoScene

Fine Art Photography of New York City by Seentoscene

About

Seentoscene is Noha Mishriky, a New Yorker who has a passion for photography.

“My mission is to capture a part of something ordinary in an extraordinary city and use it to create a singular vision using color, light and icons that impact the visual and emotional senses of the viewer.”
Print sets are reduced in price...enjoy.
Prints are mailed in cello bags and bend proof mailers to ensure your new prints arrive to you in top condition.

A New York Story ---

"On Broadway in Manhattan one quiet Sunday morning, an older man and I crossed paths. I was taking a photo of a diner window when he stopped to ask me why. Why would I be taking photos of things so ordinary ... so everyday instead of the great historic monuments around The City?
As I tried to humor the man while simultaneously resuming my photography, I smiled to myself. I have lived in Manhattan for over twenty years. In my experience, there is little that is "everyday" in New York City. Things change minute to minute ... transportation routes get switched around, buildings get leveled to be built anew, and so on.
So as I photograph what seems ordinary at the moment, I realize the familiar icons of the present may be the relics of tomorrow.
Thank you so much old man for stopping to chat."

Special Thanks to Noha for allowing me to share these photos with you!

Fine art photography by Irene Suchocki. Eye Poetry Photography Italy

One of my favorite Etsy photographer's is Irene Suchocki.  Her shop is called Eye Poetry Photography.
I choose to share with you some of Irene's travel photography of Italy.  Here is a little bit about Irene as well as some links for you to explore.

"In my photography I combine my love of travel and place with a dream-like aesthetic to create visual poems that evoke a sense of magic, delight, nostalgia and romance. I love to photograph iconic places such as Paris, New York, and Venice in a way that gives the sense of having tumbled through a secret doorway into a previously unseen world. When I am not traveling, I turn to nature for inspiration and for subject matter, with a particular fondness for trees and coastal landscapes."

I need sleep....any advice?

Arghhhh from being sick so much this year my sleep schedual is backwards and I cant seem to get back on track.  I'm up most the night and so I walk through my day in zombie mode.  It is reallly starting to take a toll on my brain.   Anyone have an advice for me?  That doesn't involve sleeping pills? Tylenol PM just makes me feel sort of drunk or something and it doesnt put me to sleep.

But on the bright side I was browsing through Etsy tonight and I found this bag by Move Fast, Stay Still.  The quote  printed on the tote is from the poem "This is Just To Say" by William Carlos Williams and it is one
of my favorite poems. I can't even explain to you why I like this poem so much but I just do.  I know it is quite famous but as far as famous poems goes, this is as quirky as it gets.

I am pretty sure that I even posted this poem on my blog here several months ago....hmmm if I didn't actually post it, at least I know I thought about it!  :)

Not For My Little Artists Under 21...

Great Hemingway quote, although please take this with a grain or a shaker of salt as I must note that Mr. Hemingway was a bit of a drunk who left this earth via suicide.  His tragic ending doesn't diminish his talent as a writer but should make you more cautious in taking any advice from him involving the juice.  Still I love this quote.

(Seriously though, don't write drunk, it never makes sense.)

Here are some of my favorite items from the treasury:

Walker's Whimsey's is a wonderful vintage and antique shop.  They have great prices and I had to favorite them.  I bet you will too, make sure to visit.

Looked around this shop...and there was lots of bead envy on my part.

I'm really loving this shop...the owner is a cat lover like me and her name is Jude! My dad wanted to name me that :)

Poem/Photography

Sonnet 29

When in disgrace with fortune and men’s eyes
I all alone beweep my outcast state,
And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries,
And look upon myself, and curse my fate,
Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
Featured like him, like him with friends possessed,
Desiring this man’s art, and that man’s scope,
With what I most enjoy contented least;
Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,
Haply I think on thee,—and then my state,
Like to the lark at break of day arising
From sullen earth, sings hymns at heaven’s gate;
For thy sweet love remembered such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings

-William Shakespeare

Random Giveaway! Giftcard & Gift, PIF

I just made this adorable set of positive thinking magnets.  Who doesn't need a little encouragement now and then?  And who doesn't love magnets?  You can stick something to something else without the commitment of glue.  Perfect.

Next Question: Would you like to have these magnets for yourself and have $10 to spend in my Etsy shop?  If the answer is YES, this giveaway is for you!

At first I was going to sell them on Etsy but after thinking about it, I realized there are much more important things than money.  What I really need are some good knock knock jokes.  My nieces are really into them right now and I would like to hitch a ride on their bandwagon.  Here is how this will work, send me your best knock knock jokes, email me, post comments, do whatever you want.  They don't have to be original but must be child friendly, you can enter as many times as you want  I will give you 5 days and at the end of 5 days, I will tell my nieces all of your jokes and see which one they like best.  Whoever's joke these choose will get their awesome joke posted in my blog and will also get this magnet set, along with a $10 gift card.

Knock Knock...Let's see who's there :)

On the 5th of February Target stores will launch their "Jason Wu for Target" line and I can't wait for this debut.  Here are some of my personal favorites.  Milu the cat fits perfectly into my plan to make cats cool and change the whole "cat lady" idea.  You can check out the full line at Target.com :) Meow!
